in termini di redditività delle imprese e di riduzione del loro indebitamento, è arrivato il coronavirus a far precipitare di nuovo la situazione in Sicilia. Sono alcune delle sostanziali conclusioni contenute nel report annuale di Bankitalia, i cui esperti stimano che misure di distanziamento sociale e chiusura delle attività nei mesi di marzo e aprile hanno avuto pesanti ripercussioni sull'attività economica nazionale e regionale. Secondo il report, nella prima parte del 2020 l'attività produttiva ha subito una contrazione significativa a causa del diffondersi della pandemia, e oggi almeno il 25% delle aziende rischiano la chiusura, avendo dovuto fronteggiare un drastico calo della domanda interna, che ha determinato una marcata riduzione dei ricavi attesi, soprattutto nel comparto dei servizi privati non finanziari. Insomma, la Banca d'Italia preferisce parlare chiaro, e i suoi esperti arrivano a dire che "il peggio deve ancora arrivare".Le statistiche rivelano poi che le famiglie avrebbero dimostrato di potere resistere di più, grazie ai propri risparmi, anche se le prospettive confermano una vulnerabilità significativa, con una disuguaglianza di redditi da lavoro aumentata e un aumento sostanziale di disoccupati e inoccupati. E si annuncia più che critica la situazione per i comuni siciliani, molti dei quali (già in crisi) rischiano di vedere aggravata la loro situazione proprio a causa della pandemia, con conseguenze (tra mancati trasferimenti e aumenti insostenibili delle anticipazioni di cassa) che potrebbero essere nefaste.
