Nessun intervento, né quello definitivo e risolutivo da 300 mila euro, né quello tampone di cui aveva parlato qualche mese fa l'assessore Roberto Lo Cicero e che, con lavori della durata di circa dieci giorni, avrebbe consentito una riapertura al transito delle vetture, con esclusione dei mezzi pesanti. Nulla di tutto questo, la via è chiusa ormai dalla primavera del 2019 con la conseguenza che anche quest'anno, proprio a causa della indisponibilità dell'arteria, non è stato possibile estendere la ztl al tratto di corso Vittorio Emanuele compreso tra l'incrocio con vicolo Cappellino fino al palazzo Steripinto. E così, per il secondo anno consecutivo, i titolari delle attività di ristorazione presenti in questo tratto di corso Vittorio Emanuele, non hanno potuto collocare i tavoli all'esterno. Arteria che resta chiusa, con l'aggravante adesso che alcune aree si sono trasformate in discariche. A segnalarlo sono oggi in una nota i consiglieri comunali Salvatore Monte, Carmela Santangelo e Gaetano Cognata. Nell’attesa che si compia il miracolo della riapertura, osservano i tre consiglieri, lo spazio sottostante la piazza Angelo Scandaliato si è trasformato in una discarica a cielo aperto, con cumuli di rifiuti e stato indecoroso in cui versa la zona. Se da un lato l’inciviltà la fa da padrone, scrivono Monte, Santangelo e Cognata, dall’altro si denota la totale assenza di attenzione e pulizia. Le immagini non ritraggono un’area periferica della città ma il cuore del centro storico ed è auspicabile che l’amministrazione si attivi celermente per ripristinare il decoro della zona che rimane luogo di passaggio per i pedoni e anche dei turisti presenti in città, concludono i tre consiglieri di opposizione.
