Ma a preoccupare adesso non è più soltanto il numero dei contagiati che continua ad aumentare senza che ancora si registrino casi di persone guarite, ma anche l'aumento delle persone che hanno bisogno delle cure ospedaliere. Proprio per uno dei tre nuovi saccensi risultati positivi ieri al coronavirus, infatti, e nello specifico per un soggetto di 77 anni, si è reso necessario il ricovero presso il reparto di malattie infettive dell'ospedale Sant'Elia di Caltanissetta dove adesso i saccensi ricoverati sono quattro. Altri due saccensi affetti da covid 19 sono inoltre ricoverati uno a Palermo, l'altro nel reparto di terapia intensiva del Giovanni Paolo II. Sempre al Sant'Elia di Caltanissetta è inoltre ricoverata una delle tre persone risultate positive a Santa Margherita Belice. Ieri inoltre, primo caso di coronavirus anche a Sambuca di Sicilia. Ad annunciarlo è stato il sindaco Leo Ciaccio. Si tratta di una persona anziana che non presenta al momento particolari sintomi e che si trova in isolamento al pari dei suoi familiari che nei giorni scorsi, proprio in attesa del risultato del tampone, si erano messi in isolamento fiduciario. A fronte di una situazione che nell'agrigentino resta di grande preoccupazione, sono quattordici i nuovi medici che da oggi prenderanno servizio in provincia. Lo ha deciso l’Asp di Agrigento nell’ottica di un potenziamento sanitario per fronteggiare l’emergenza coronavirus. Già l’11 settembre scorso l’azienda sanitaria aveva disposto l’aumento di 14 unità. Il commissario Zappia ha anche disposto il reclutamento di 20 ausiliari specializzati ai quali verrà assegnato un incarico a tempo determinato in sostituzione di quelli in scadenza. A livello regionale, intanto, è sceso sotto la soglia dei cento il numero dei nuovi positivi registrati in Sicilia nelle ultime 24 ore ma a fronte di un minor numero di tamponi effettuato. Sono 85 i nuovi positivi registrati nella giornata di ieri, 329 i ricoverati in ospedale, 24 le persone in terapia intensiva e 2894 i soggetti in isolamento domiciliare per un totale di 3.247 attuali positivi. Le ultime 24 ore hanno anche registrato altri due decessi, una donna di Trapani di 95 anni e una di Catania di 80 anni, per un totale di 319 vittime in Sicilia dall'inizio della pandemia. I guariti nelle ultime ore sono stati appena sette. Nelle ultime ore, su disposizione del presidente della Regione Nello Musumeci, è intanto scattata in Sicilia l'istituzione di una nuova zona rossa, oltre alle quattro aree della missione Speranza e Carità di Biagio Conte a Palermo. Si tratta del comune di Villafrati, in provincia di Palermo, dopo che gli uffici dell'Asp territoriale hanno segnalato la presenza di un cluster che al momento conta 80 persone contagiate.
