Una festa internazionale dell’Amicizia, istituita nel 1926 dall’organizzazione mondiale dello scoutismo e che ogni anno si rinnova, nella domenica più vicina al 22 febbraio, coinvolgendo oltre 10 milioni di scout in 152 paesi diversi per festeggiare la ricorrenza del compleanno del fondatore dello scautismo, Lord Baden Powell, e di sua moglie Olave, prima Capo Guida mondiale delle Guide.
Il tutto costruito quest'anno, nel caso del gruppo Sciacca 2, anche con la volontà di testimoniare all’esterno, a tutta la cittadinanza di Sciacca, quanto sia importante stare insieme nel rispetto delle regole per proteggere noi stessi e chi ci sta vicino dal pericolo sempre incombente rappresentato dalla pandemia Covid-19.
La tematica della Giornata del Pensiero 2021 è sintetizzata nello slogan di quest’anno “UNITI PER LA PACE”.
Con riferimento a tale tematica la Capo Guida d’Italia Daniela Ferrara, presente al momento celebrativo qui a Sciacca, ha sottolineato come il contenuto della parola PACE possa essere immediatamente messo in circolazione nella nostra realtà assumendosi la responsabilità della CURA e della CUSTODIA di chi ci sta vicino e soprattutto di coloro che sono più fragili e più deboli, nella fedeltà al mandato di “Fratelli tutti” che ci ha affidato Papa Francesco.
Alla cerimonia ha partecipato il vice sindaco Gisella Mondino.
La Giornata del Pensiero dello Sciacca 2 si è conclusa con
il rinnovo della Promessa Scout, pubblicamente, per testimoniare, tutti insieme, che gli scouts dell'AGESCI ci sono e che sono pronti a servire il proprio paese.
