avevano polemizzato col senatore Rino Marinello, accusandolo di non avere dato la propria adesione all'intergruppo parlamentare "Città delle Ceramiche" nato alla Camera e che annovera deputati e senatori originari di comuni dalla tradizione ceramica. Marinello fa sapere di avere regolarmente aderito a questo raggruppamento, "del quale - sottolinea - ovviamente condivido pienamente finalità e scopi". “La mia città - aggiunge - è uno dei luoghi simbolo della produzione della migliore ceramica artigianale e rappresenta un vanto per la Sicilia e per l'Italia nel mondo, oltre ad essere, naturalmente, fonte di ricchezza per l'economia locale. La tutela e valorizzazione della ceramica di Sciacca è, da sempre, al centro della mia azione istituzionale".
Marinello aggiunge che da tempo è impegnato su questa materia, come dimostrano i suoi contatti con il presidente dell'Associazione Città delle Ceramiche-AiCC, con il quale ha parlato della possibilità di organizzare una mostra istituzionale espositiva con le ceramiche storiche di Sciacca e Burgio, iniziativa ovviamente sospesa con l'arrivo della pandemia da Covid-19.
Conclude, Marinello, manifestando il suo impegno per il reperimento dei fondi europei per il finanziamento della riqualificazione della "Scalinata di via Di Paola" da realizzarsi anche attraverso un progetto che preveda la creazione di decorazioni in ceramica da apporre sulla scalinata stessa, in corrispondenza delle alzate degli scalini.
