Questo il commento di Mario Zappia, commissario dell'ASP di Agrigento, che mette in evidenza come la diffusione del Covid (anche attraverso la variante inglese) abbia generato un'occupazione tale di posti letto da collocare il territorio agrigentino al terzo posto in Sicilia. A proposito di ospedali, Zappia torna a parlare del discusso Covid Hospital che ancora non ha potuto vedere la luce al "Fratelli Parlapiano" di Ribera: "Quello che competeva all'ASP è stato completato, devono essere i tecnici dell'assessorato adesso ad aprirlo". Poi con Zappia abbiamo parlato della campagna vaccinale: "Procede bene con le dosi che abbiamo", fa notare. L'attesa è tutta rivolta all'incremento delle forniture, quelle a cui il premier Draghi ha attribuito fondamentale importanza affinché in Italia si possano somministrare almeno 500 mila vaccini al giorno. In quell'ottica anche qui bisognerà allargare il numero dei 17 punti vaccinali. A Sciacca l'amministrazione punta sull'utilizzo della Badia Grande. Nel frattempo sono stati tutti vaccinati gli ospiti delle residenze sanitarie assistite e case di riposo. Il 25% degli over 80 sono stati vaccinati, con le vaccinazioni domiciliari si è a buon punto, occhi puntati adesso sulla categoria degli estremamente vulnerabili.
