Ospiti con i quali abbiamo fatto un focus sulla situazione di emergenza nella quale questi comuni si sono venuti a trovare nell'ambito dell'escalation di contagi da Covid a seguito della istituzione delle rispettive "zone rosse" decise dal presidente della Regione Nello Musumeci. Quello che è venuto fuori dal dibattito è stato un esame condiviso obiettivo delle difficoltà affrontate da ciascun primo cittadino, prima nel cercare di fare rispettare le restrizioni, poi nel dovere prendere atto delle singole situazioni di incontrollabilità del virus, tra feste private e assembramenti pubblici che, alla fine, hanno fatto entrare il Covid perfino all'interno delle scuole, oltre che delle famiglie. Sullo sfondo: le difficoltà oggettive di comuni e prefettura a disporre controlli del territorio con i pochi mezzi a disposizione ed una disponibilità di risorse umane tra le polizie municipali ridotta al lumicino. La sola sensibilizzazione della popolazione purtroppo si è rivelata insufficiente a contenere la diffusione del Covid. Adesso l'attenzione di tutti è puntata sulla campagna di vaccinazione. La gente è stanca, e naturalmente vorrebbe riappropriarsi della propria vita. Tema, quello delle vaccinazioni, che ha visto i sindaci di Palma di Montechiaro e Raffadali evidenziare come sarebbe stato necessario immunizzare proprio i primi cittadini, che ogni giorno incontrano tante persone. Sulla crisi economica che il Covid sta generando, tutti i sindaci hanno lamentato la distanza dal governo centrale. Nello stesso Decreto Sostegni mancano gli aiuti nei confronti dei comuni, che da un lato sono chiamati a rottamare le cartelle esattoriali, dall'altro non ricevono i necessari ristori per la necessaria compensazione.
