È con questa metafora che i volontari dell'Abio – l'associazione che prova a rendere meno traumatica la degenza in ospedale dei bambini – hanno coinvolto gli studenti delle quarte e quinte classi della scuola primaria dell'istituto comprensivo “Mariano Rossi” di Sciacca in un laboratorio di scrittura volto a far conoscere la loro attività. Gli alunni hanno prima ascoltato un racconto su una particolare isola – che simboleggia l'ospedale – e, dopo, inventato altre storie simili immedesimandosi nei protagonisti, spiega Pinetta Curreri, presidente di Abio Sciacca. I duecentoventi ragazzi delle nove classi coinvolte, hanno inventato, dunque, delle storie in cui gli animaletti – per così dire - “rotti” devono essere “aggiustati”. Un laboratorio che – aggiunge l'insegnante Maria Cristina Venezia, referente di Educazione Alla Salute della primaria "Mariano Rossi" – rientra in un più ampio progetto avviato all'inizio dell'anno Scolastico.
