Nella maggior parte degli istituti riunione del collegio dei docenti con all'ordine del giorno, tra le tante cose, anche l'inizio del nuovo anno scolastico. A Sciacca la maggior parte delle scuole ha optato per lunedì 10 settembre, nonostante la data indicata dall'assessorato regionale alla pubblica istruzione fosse quella di mercoledì 12 settembre.
Ci sono però delle eccezioni. L'istituto comprensivo Mariano Rossi ha deciso, infatti, di far partire il nuovo anno scolastico martedì 11 settembre.
Alcuni istituti non hanno ancora deliberato. E' il caso del liceo Scientifico Enrico Fermi e della scuola media Inveges che, pur essendo orientati ad adeguarsi alle altre scuole, decideranno la data di inizio lunedì 3 settembre. Stesso discorso per l'Istituto Amato Vetrano, che comprende l'Alberghiero e l'Agrario. E' previsto invece per mercoledì prossimo il collegio dei docenti per deliberare l'inizio delle lezioni all'istituto Don Michele Arena che da quest'anno sarà guidato da un nuovo dirigente, Calogero De Gregorio, dopo il trasferimento di Gabriella Bruccoleri. Nuovo dirigente anche al secondo circolo, la scuola di Sant'Agostino. Si tratta di Emanuele Giordano. Novità anche per il primo circolo didattico che comprende vari plessi: Fazello, via Catusi e via Nastasi la cui reggenza è stata affidata al preside Pippo Graffeo, già dirigente dell'istituto comprensivo Dante Alighieri.
Hanno già deliberato di far suonare la prima campanella lunedì 10 settembre il liceo Classico e l'Artistico e l'istituto comprensivo Dante Alighieri con le sezioni di materna ed elementare dei vari plessi e la scuola media Scaturro.
