A riferirlo il deputato regionale saccense Michele Catanzaro del Partito Democratico. Si tratta di fondi europei destinati sulla carta alla ricerca, allo sviluppo tecnologico, all'innovazione e alla promozione di piccole e medie imprese che operano nel settore agricolo, della pesca e dell'acquacoltura. Ma è quello agricolo il comparto ad essere maggiormente penalizzato se questi fondi dovessero andare persi. Il Piano di Sviluppo Rurale – scrive Catanzaro – doveva iniziare nel 2014 per terminare nel 2020, ma è ancora ai blocchi di partenza e tragicamente indietro, con un quadro davvero desolante. La Sicilia è in allarmante ritardo – continua Catanzaro. Nello specifico, entro il 2018 vanno spesi e certificati 719 milioni di euro, ma ad oggi la spesa certificata è soltanto di 6 milioni. Una questione di difficile soluzione, posto che, come detto, si tratta di somme da spendere in teoria entro i prossimi 3 mesi. Catanzaro propone una possibile soluzione. Per recuperare e spendere questi fondi, il deputato saccense chiede alla Regione di scorrere le graduatorie dei bandi precedenti per permettere ad ulteriori e numerose aziende di accedere ai finanziamenti. Dato il grave ritardo accumulato, è impensabile immaginare – scrive Catanzaro – la pubblicazione di nuovi bandi. La fase di istruttoria richiederebbe troppo tempo e abbiamo il dovere di non perdere possibilità di sviluppo e di utilizzare bene e presto le tante risorse a disposizione. Chiaramente questi ritardi e l'eventuale perdita delle somme creerebbe danni enormi all'intero sistema produttivo siciliano sia per le fallite opportunità di sviluppo sia perchè, a causa della mancata erogazione dei fondi, il tessuto economico siciliano sta attraversando serissime difficoltà di liquidità.
