Il sindaco di Sciacca Francesca Valenti ha ieri presieduto una riunione del consiglio direttivo dell’Ati, nella sua qualità di presidente dell’Assemblea Territoriale Idrica, con al centro proprio la questione delle tariffe per il periodo 2018-2020. Un momento importante, commenta Francesca Valenti. L’Ati è al lavoro per rinnovare il piano tariffario e ieri si è avuto un confronto con i tecnici incaricati dall’Assemblea per definire proprio le nuove tariffe.
La direzione tracciata è quella della riduzione. Una buona notizia, verrebbe da dire, per gli utenti dei comuni agrigentini che dipendono da Girgenti Acque e che in questi anni, rispetto al resto dei comuni che continua a gestire direttamente le proprie risorse idriche, ha visto lievitare il costo dell'acqua. Solo lo scorso anno si è registrata una lieve riduzione della tariffa. L'ATI, assemblea territoriale idrica della quale fanno parte i sindaci, rispetto all'ATO, ha voluto dare un piccolo segnale, rispetto alle precedenti tariffe.
Al di là delle polemiche legate alla gestione privata del servizio idrico integrato, quella dei costi dell'acqua in provincia di Agrigento è stata la vera questione, mai affrontata adeguatamente.
Basti pensare che dal 2008, ossia dall' inizio della gestione Girgenti Acque sono state applicate in via transitoria le tariffe determinate dal precedente gestore, ossia l'Eas fino al 2011.
L'Ato, ma anche i sindaci dei comuni agrigentini hanno rinviato fin quando hanno potuto la questione delle tariffe, sicuramente impopolare. Si è preferito delegare l'Ato, successivamente commissariato, che soltanto nel 2012 -2013 ha approvato il piano tariffario. Un vero salasso per gli utenti agrigentini.
Si arriva così al piano tariffario approvato nel 2017 dall'Ati, presieduto da Enzo Lotà con i sindaci che, esposti alle proprie responsabilità, hanno cercato di operare una lieve diminuzione.
Adesso si vuole fare di più, anche perchè la questione delle tariffe si interseca ora con il processo di risoluzione del contratto con Girgenti Acque. Calmierare la tariffe è la parola d'ordine dell'Assemblea Territoriale Idrica presieduta da alcuni mesi dal sindaco di Sciacca Francesca Valenti. C'è da capire se e in che misura l'obiettivo sarà raggiunto in quella che ormai è una guerra aperta tra Ati e Girgenti Acque.
