L'episodio si è verificato ieri pomeriggio e ha generato allarme tra la popolazione visto che gli alloggi vengono spesso occupati abusivamente da extracomunitari. Per fortuna, nel momento in cui si è sviluppato l'incendio, non c'era nessuno all'interno degli immobili. Insomma un episodio che avrebbe potuto avere conseguenze piu' gravi e che, in ogni caso, la dice lunga sullo stato di incuria ed abbandono in cui versano gli alloggi di Ribera, da tempo ormai diventati non solo l'emblema di una vicenda a dir poco scandalosa ma anche un vero e proprio pericolo per l'incolumità pubblica. Eppure, nonostante una gara d'appalto espletata da tempo, e con il termine a disposizione della ditta aggiudicataria per la progettazione esecutiva e l'avvio dei lavori già abbondantemente scaduto, questi immobili sgomberati sette anni fa perchè costruiti con cemento depotenziato sono ancora lì, in attesa di essere demoliti e ricostruiti. Una procedura che continua ad essere esclusivamente caratterizzata da rinvii e slittamenti assurdi e inconcepibili. Nello scorso mese di agosto, quando finalmente venne firmato il contratto tra Iacp e impresa che si è aggiudicata i lavori, sembrava che l'iter avesse finalmente preso la strada giusta, ed invece nulla di tutto ciò. A nulla sono servite le proteste, talvolta eclatanti, degli ex residenti degli alloggi che le hanno provate tutte nel tentativo di sbloccare una vicenda che si trascina da troppi anni. Anche nelle ultime ore, dopo l'incendio di ieri, hanno provato a mettersi in contatto con la ditta, con l'Istituto Case Popolari e con le autorità comunali, ma non hanno ottenuto alcuna risposta.
