Non solo quelli che effettuano la pesca a strascico e che dal 10 luglio scorso protestano per l’entrata in vigore del regolamento comunitario 982/2019 che nel dettaglio ha introdotto zone di interdizione a questa pratica di pesca, tra queste quella ad est del banco avventura e ovest del bacino di Gela. E’ tutta la marineria di Sciacca che oggi si è fermata per una protesta che potrebbe andare avanti ad oltranza, nonostante sia remota la speranza di vedere revocare un provvedimento che risale a diversi anni addietro e che ora è solamente entrato in vigore. Lo ha evidenziato lo stesso europarlamentare Raffaele Stancanelli, ieri al nostro telegiornale. Indubbiamente per la marineria di Sciacca è una batosta alla quale si cerca di reagire. E così dopo l’animata riunione di sabato scorso oggi i pescatori saccensi hanno deciso di fermare l’attività di pesca, pure in un periodo di forte richiesta da parte del mercato e, di conseguenza, di grave perdita dal punto di vista economico. Lo hanno fatto, evidenziano le tre cooperative della pesca anche per l’ulteriore inasprimento dei controlli, che dopo la presenza di una nave della comunità europea, vede adesso anche quella di un pattugliatore della Guardia Costiera effettuare controlli sulle imbarcazioni di Sciacca. Della vicenda è stato informato anche il Sindaco. La marineria saccense chiede agli organi di governo di potere esercitare il proprio lavoro centenario in pace nel rispetto dell’ambiente marino ma anche nel rispetto delle proprie tradizioni di pesca e soprattutto per potere continuare la propria attività e il sostentamento delle proprie famiglie. Un’altra assemblea è in programma sabato prossimo.
