Incontro chiesto e ottenuto ieri dai parlamentari saccensi del Movimento 5 Stelle Matteo Mangiacavallo e Rino Marinello e al quale sono state invitate a partecipare anche le amministrazioni locali e la deputazione agrigentina. Al centro della discussione con il governo regionale, ancora una volta il regolamento comunitario entrato in vigore lo scorso 10 luglio che ha introdotto, com'è noto, zone di interdizione alla pesca a strascico molto ampie, unitamente ad un ulteriore inasprimento dei controlli. Un provvedimento che, di fatto, ha messo in ginocchio le marinerie, soprattutto quelle della costa meridionale della Sicilia. All'incontro prenderanno parte delegazioni delle marinerie di Sciacca, Licata, Porto Empedocle, Porto Palo di Capo Passero, Pozzallo e Scoglitti, le stesse che hanno predisposto un documento unitario che verrà consegnato nelle mani del presidente della Regione. Documento in cui si contestano a gran voce quegli studi scientifici a seguito dei quali è stato emanato il tanto contestato regolamento comunitario. Studi effettuati da una ONG che avrebbero dimostrato che in queste zone, oggi interdette alla pesca a strascico, il gambero rosa e il nasello sarebbero in grande sofferenza e quindi da tutelare. Niente di più falso, scrivono le marinerie: prova ne sia che fino a prima del 10 luglio, cioè quando queste zone erano ancora libere alla pesca, si pescava tanto di quel gambero come forse non se ne era mai pescato prima. Insomma, le zone interdette sono proprio quelle più pescose, non è vero che il mare è tutto uguale e che quindi si può andare in pesca in altre zone, sostengono le marinerie le quali non hanno alcun dubbio sul fatto che ci sia in atto un disegno vessatorio nei confronti del comparto. La pesca e i pescatori chiedono dignità, chiedono di potere esercitare la propria attività senza essere additati come saccheggiatori del mare e senza essere vessati dallo Stato Italiano e dalla comunità Europea. Al presidente della Regione chiederanno di farsi portavoce delle loro istanze presso il governo nazionale e la Commissione Europea della Pesca. Tra le misure invocate, c'è in primo luogo l'apertura di una immediata moratoria che possa portare ad una revisione del regolamento, ma anche modifiche al sistema sanzionatorio che, tra licenza a punti e sanzioni accessorie per singola infrazione, rischia di far fallire l'impresa di pesca che vi incorre.
