in cui si sollecita il governo nazionale a chiedere con urgenza all'Unione Europea una immediata moratoria per sospendere l'efficacia del regolamento comunitario 982, quello che ha bloccato l'attività di pesca a strascico in tre vaste aree del Canale di Sicilia. Musumeci ha dato così seguito ad uno degli impegni assunti ieri durante l'incontro con i rappresentanti delle marinerie siciliane. Pieno sostegno al settore della pesca che il capo del governo regionale conferma oggi al nostro telegiornale. Musumeci attende di conoscere l'esito dell'incontro in programma oggi pomeriggio a Roma tra una delegazione delle marinerie siciliane e il Sottosegretario alla pesca, e si è detto pronto a recarsi personalmente a Roma per incontrare il ministro e successivamente a Bruxelles per incontrare i deputati europei eletti in Sicilia. Infine, in ordine alle decisioni dell'Unione Europea, soprattutto in materia di pesca, che continuano a passare sopra la testa del governo nazionale e a non tenere conto delle specificità della pesca siciliana e del Canale di Sicilia in particolare, Musumeci che è stato europarlamentare per diversi anni, dichiara al nostro telegiornale: “Spesso e volentieri non è l'Europa dell'equità, è l'Europa delle lobby, il governo nazionale deve fare di più per difendere i diritti del nostro Paese”.
