Firmato dai sindaci di Sciacca, Ribera, Burgio, Lucca Sicula, Sambuca di Sicilia, Salaparuta, Santa Margherita Belice, Montevago Menfi, Caltabellotta e Santo Stefano Quisquina, nonché dai deputati regionali Michele Catanzaro, Margherita La Rocca Ruvolo e Matteo Mangiacavallo e dal senatore Rino Marinello, è stato già trasmesso al presidente della Regione e all'assessore regionale alla Salute e al direttore generale dell'Asp. Al centro del documento, ancora una volta, le criticità del “Giovanni Paolo II”, cui fa riferimento un ampio territorio, e che continuano a riguardare in primo luogo la carenza di personale medico, infermieristico ed ausiliario. Tutto ciò, nonostante il riconoscimento di Dea di primo livello. Sindaci che hanno non solo sottoscritto il documento ma condiviso anche l'accorato appello lanciato dal comitato civico per la sanità che ha esortato i primi cittadini a svolgere con maggiore incisività il proprio ruolo di controllori della qualità dell'assistenza sanitaria.
