l’impianto della My Ethanol non è una centrale a biomasse,ma una distilleria in grado di ricavare concime agricolo e biogas, chiudendo così un ciclo produttivo virtuoso che genera energia pulita proveniente dalla lavorazione di prodotti agricoli. Un impianto, aggiunge l'esponente del governo regionale, che non costituisce alcuna minaccia per i residenti del territorio circostante. Sono i passaggi salienti della replica dell'assessore Cordaro ad una lettera del parlamentare regionale saccense Michele Castanzaro, pubblicata dai colleghi del Corriere di Sciacca. L'assessore regionale al territorio e ambiente va ben oltre la questione, accusando il il deputato del pd non solo di ignorare totalmente la materia, ma anche di lasciarsi condizionare dalla rabbia e addirittura alimentare timori che non sono fondati. Tralasciando i contenuti del botta e risposta piuttosto polemici, quel che ci sembra rilevante è la posizione dell'assessorato regionale al territorio e ambiente rispetto ad un progetto che tanti dubbi e preoccupazioni sta generando invece nel territorio, non a caso oltre alla politica locale, si sono mobilitati comitati e associazioni. Per l'assessore Cordaro sono timori ingiustificati. Nella lettera parla infatti di un impianto, quello del gruppo Moncada, senza esalazioni maleodoranti nell’ambiente. Insomma un progetto all'avanguardia nel campo della produzione di energia rinnovabile, settore che il governo Musumeci sta sostenendo dopo le tante promesse mancate di chi lo ha preceduto. Di più, respinge al mittente ( a Catanzaro), ritenendolo inappropriato, il riferimento a Ponzio Pilato, ossia ad una Regione che sostanzialmente si sta lavando le mani ed evidenzia che le amministrazioni competenti sono il Comune di Sciacca e il Libero Consorzio di Agrigento.
Dunque da un lato si condivide essenzialmente il progetto della My Ethanol, dall'altro lato si dice che, comunque, la competenza è di Comune ed ex Provincia. Intervento quello dell'assessore regionale al territorio e ambiente che, seppure finalizzato a rassicurare il territorio, così ha scritto Cordaro, è destinato a far discutere ulteriormente in città e che ha già portato il Pd locale ad una secca replica. Tralasciando, anche in questo caso i contorni della stretta polemica e delle accuse reciproche, il gruppo consiliare del Pd, ma la nota è stata firmata anche da Valeria Gulotta, si dice preoccupato del sostegno pieno al progetto della My Ethanol che arriva dall'assessore regionale al territorio e ambiente. T utto questo, sostiene il pd locale, nonostante l'assessore Cordaro abbia manifestato fino ad ora totale disinteresse in tutte le occasioni pubbliche tenutesi presso le commissioni parlamentari competenti dell'ars, opportunamente convocate per trattare la tematica e nel corso delle quali sono state espresse le preoccupazioni e i timori di un territorio. Pd che contesta anche la questione della competenza. L'assessorato regionale al territorio e ambiente , scrivono i consiglieri comunali, nomina i vertici degli Uffici Territoriali che, al contrario di quanto egli sostiene, hanno competenza rispetto ad importanti procedure autorizzative. Pd che prende atto della posizione favorevole del governo regionale sul progetto della My Ethanol. Andremo avanti ugualmente e con maggiore determinazione perché la sollecitazione accorata del deputato Michele Catanzaro, che ha generato la replica dell’assessore Cordaro, altro non rappresentava che i timori di un intero territorio che non rimarrà a guardare.
