ieri è arrivata un'altra candidatura a sindaco di Ribera in vista delle prossime elezioni amministrative. E' quella dell'ex parlamentare regionale Giovanni Manzullo che questa mattina al nostro telegiornale conferma di avere dato la propria disponibilità ad un gruppo di amici che lo hanno invitato a concorrere per la carica di primo cittadino. Dunque due candidati a sindaco nel giro di dodici ore. Anche quella dell'ex deputato regionale, al pari dell'iniziativa assunta dall'assessore Montalbano, pare sia una sorta di fuga in avanti, anche se il diretto interessato preferisce parlare di dichiarazione di disponibilità data a quanti lo hanno sollecitato in tal senso, non avallata al momento dalla coalizione che fa riferimento al sindaco Pace che pure aveva indicato Manzullo come uno dei potenziali candidati a sindaco di questo schieramento, unitamente al nome dell'ex questore Nino Cufalo. Se la coalizione del sindaco uscente deciderà di sostenermi, non potrò che essere felice, ha aggiunto Manzullo al nostro tg. Le candidature di Giovanni Manzullo e Francesco Montalbano, che tra l'altro sono zio e nipote, una situazione di parentela tra esponenti politici non certo nuova per il Comune di Ribera, vanno ad aggiungersi all'altra candidatura, quella dell'avvocato Matteo Ruvolo che da tempo ha annunciato la sua discesa in campo. Tutte da definire le alleanze e gli accordi con i vari partiti, movimenti, associazioni, naturalmente in corso di discussione. Giovanni Manzullo, deputato all’Ars per tre legislature nonché assessore regionale ai Lavori Pubblici e all’Industria, a Ribera è stato più volte consigliere comunale e assessore in diversi settori della pubblica amministrazione.
