Un momento di dibattito e confronto organizzato dal comune di Lucca Sicula e dal Senato della Repubblica, in collaborazione con lo Sportello antiviolenza “Fenice” del Tribunale di Sciacca. Ad intervenire, a Palazzo Locascio, oltre al sindaco Salvatore Dazzo e al giornalista Calogero Parlapiano, anche i senatori Rino Marinello e Cinzia Leone, vicepresidente della Commissione d'Inchiesta sul Femminicidio, lo psichiatra Paolo Libassi, la psicologa Alessandra Maniscalco, il presidente della Camera Penale del Tribunale di Sciacca Antonino Augello e la responsabile dello Sportello “Fenice” Elina Salomone. Presenti anche il capitano della Compagnia Carabinieri di Sciacca e l’ ispettore della questura di Agrigento. Destinatari dell’incontro, gli studenti del plesso “Roncalli” di Lucca Sicula, parte attiva dell’iniziaitva, intervenuti più volte con domande curiose, con una poesia a tema e con la proiezione di un video. La senatrice Leone ha dichiarato, a conclusione del convegno, che porterà con sè a Roma in commissione tutte le istanze avanzate su come intervenire sugli uomini autori di maltrattramenti, la proprosta di istituire tre figure provinciali che facciano da intermediari tra casi e procure e dare maggiore peso alle attività di informazione. L’occasione è servita anche, allo sportello antiviolenza di Sciacca, a richiedere maggiore sostegno per l’attività svolta, attraverso fondi che possano potenziare il centro di sostegno alle donne in difficoltà.
Come lasciato intendere dal titolo dell’iniziativa, è stata scoperta, subito dopo il convengo, una panchina rossa nella piazzetta antistante l’istituto “Roncalli” ed il parco giochi.
