Una fiammella che arriva dalla chiesa della grotta della natività, in Terra Santa, dove arde perennemente una lampada ad olio, considerata simbolo universale di pace. Ogni anno, nel mese di dicembre, un bambino austriaco attinge da quel fuoco per accendere un lume che poi porta in aereo a Linz, in Austria; da lì, la Luce della Pace si diffonde in tutta Europa. Dal 1986 gli scout collaborano alla distribuzione di questa Luce con staffette ferroviarie attraverso tutta l’Europa, come segno natalizio di Accoglienza, Amicizia, Uguaglianza e Fratellanza. A Palermo la Luce di Betlemme arriverà in treno nella tarda serata di domani: ad espettare il suo arrivo, ci saranno anche i ragazzi del gruppo scout Agesci Sciacca 2. La Luce approderà domenica alla Parrocchia di San Pietro alla Marina e da lì gli scout dello Sciacca 2 la porteranno in dono alle diverse parrocchie della città, in ospedale, nei luoghi dove gli scout prestano servizio. Previsto anche l’arrivo al Palazzo di Città il 23 dicembre alle 12:30 per la consegna al sindaco Fracesca Valenti: un gesto simbolico all’intera città per un Natale 2019 illuminato dalla Speranza di un domani più bello e sereno.
