Ed il pensiero del locale comando “Giovanni Fazio” è andato ai bambini ricoverati presso il reparto di pediatria dell'ospedale “Giovanni Paolo II”. Bambini che, a causa di malattie e problemi di salute, sono costretti a trascorrere in Natale in ospedale. In reparto sono arrivati questa mattina Babbo Natale e tanti doni. Un modo per regalare un sorriso a questi piccoli pazienti del Giovanni Paolo II, per far respirare loro un po' di atmosfera natalizia sia pur tra le mura di un ospedale, e per non far perdere loro la tradizione dei regali di Natale, assai sentita proprio dai bambini. Ed ecco che, su iniziativa degli agenti della Polizia Municipale, questa mattina in pediatria sono arrivati giochi, materiale di cancelleria, colori, fogli, temperini, lavagnette, album da colorare, puzzle. Materiale con cui i bambini ricoverati potranno giocare e rendere così meno triste e traumatica la permanenza in ospedale soprattutto in un periodo di festa. A nome del reparto e dell'ospedale, è stato il primario facente funzioni della pediatria, il dottore Michele Porrello, a ringraziare la Polizia Municipale di Sciacca per il grande gesto di solidarietà mostrato e che è stato possibile realizzare anche grazie alla sensibilità di diverse attività commerciali della città. I giocattoli, infatti, sono stati messi a disposizione o in ogni caso venduti a prezzi scontati da Toys Center, cartolibreria dei fratelli Russo, Di Caro Big, Cuccioland e Buffetti.
