E' successo ancora una volta nel centro storico di Sciacca, zona in cui di questi immobili ce ne sono tanti, e parlare di tragedia sfiorata non è affatto esagerato. L'episodio si è verificato mercoledì scorso, giorno di Natale. A cedere è stato un immobile fatiscente ubicato in via Oliveri, zona compresa tra la via Giuseppe Licata e il quartiere di San Michele. Per fortuna non ci sono state conseguenze per la pubblica incolumità grazie al fatto che alcuni giorni prima del crollo l'area era stata messa in sicurezza e transennata per impedirne il passaggio dopo che Polizia Municipale, Vigili del Fuoco, Protezione Civile, squadra segnaletica e personale dell'ufficio tecnico del Comune avevano verificato lo stato di pericolosità del vecchio edificio. Un'azione preventiva che si è pertanto rivelata assolutamente provvidenziale e che ha consentito di evitare danni al momento del cedimento strutturale. Subito dopo il crollo, sono stati effettuati appositi controlli anche negli immobili adiacenti per verificare eventuali condizioni di pericolo per gli edifici confinanti a seguito del cedimento. Difficile che al momento l'immobile venga interessato da lavori di sistemazione e ripristino delle condizioni di sicurezza visto che i proprietari vivono negli Stati Uniti d'America.
