Eppure oggi sente la necessità di evidenziare anche come, lo scenario attorno al futuro del "Fratelli Parlapiano", al momento sia connotato di dubbi e incertezze che meritano di essere risolti. Si attende ancora, per dire, la formalizzazione della sua stessa destinazione a Covid Hospital, così come come Ruggero Razza ha confermato nelle scorse ore, anche se al momento ancora in termini di orientamento generale, che giunge però dopo le polemiche delle settimane scorse sull'idea di insistere sugli ospedali misti, questione questa che ha visto il Comitato tecnico scientifico dimettersi in massa per poi tornare sui propri passi. Ma se la curva epidemiologica in Sicilia è tranquillizzante, Covid Hospital o non Covid Hospital è chiaro come a Ribera si guardi ormai alla individuazione dell'ospedale come possibile Centro per Malattie Infettive. Che, peraltro, blinderebbe (se così è possibile dire) un presidio ospedaliero il cui futuro da anni preoccupa classe dirigente e società civile. In tal senso secondo Pace occorre ancora comprendere le modalità attorno a questa prospettiva. Malattie infettive, infatti, significa anche istituzione di diversi reparti che è necessario associare. Il tema è oggetto di una richiesta piuttosto forte, quella avanzata da Margherita La Rocca Ruvolo allo stesso assessore regionale alla Salute, ad assumere decisioni che vengano condivise col territorio, mentre è stata di autentica esultanza la posizione pubblicamente assunta in materia da Matteo Mangiacavallo.
