Blitz dei carabinieri della compagnia di Bagheria su richiesta della procura della Repubblica di Sciacca. Operazione tuttora in corso a Sciacca. Agli arresti in casa sono finiti tre palermitani e un uomo di Terrasini, accusati di usura, truffa e falso. Palermitani anche gli altri due soggetti destinatari della misura cautelare meno grave. Farebbero parte di un’organizzazione che si arricchiva sfruttando la disperazione della gente che, pur di accedere al credito, accettava di pagare interessi del 20% per l’intermediazione finanziaria. L’associazione criminale, per realizzare il proprio fine illecito, si avvaleva del concorso di alcuni professionisti e mediatori finanziari, e della produzione documenti falsi, riuscendo ad ottenere dagli istituti finanziari, anche questi truffati, finanziamenti fino a 60.000 euro, in favore di soggetti beneficiari, privi dei requisiti. Secondo gli inquirenti è stato accertato, attraverso intercettazioni telefoniche e riscontri documentali, che l’organizzazione si arricchiva sfruttando la disperazione di comuni cittadini che, pur di accedere al credito, accettavano di pagare corrispettivi usurai.
