Questa la situazione che viene fuori dalla fotografia odierna del ministero della Salute in riferimento alla diffusione del Covid in Sicilia. Nelle ultime 24 ore nella nostra isola ci sono stati altri 2.087 nuovi casi positivi su 18.154 tamponi processati tra rapidi e molecolari. Il tasso di contagiosità sale all'11,5% (ieri era dell'11,2%). Ci sono stati 20 morti, numero riferito ai giorni compresi tra il 21 e il 26 dicembre. In aumento i ricoveri, che oggi sono 28 più di ieri. I posti letto occupati in degenza ordinaria sono 657, mentre in terapia intensiva i ricoverati sono 81, 4 più di 24 ore fa e con 7 nuovi ingressi. Ci sono stati 732 nuovi guariti, ma il numero totale di persone tuttora positive è cresciuto di oltre 1.300 persone, attestandosi su 29.864. A proposito dell'incremento dei contagi, l'assessore regionale alla Salute Razza ha annunciato il rafforzamento dei drive-in in in numero adeguato di biologi per potere rafforzare l'attività, potendo così destinare alle visite domiciliari e alla realizzazione dei vaccini domiciliari i medici che sono destinati all'emergenza". Per quanto riguarda i dati per singola provincia, degli oltre duemila nuovi contagiati in Sicilia sono ben 265 quelli che si sono registrati in provincia di Agrigento. Oltre 600 i nuovi contagiati nel Palermitano, 457 nel Catanese, 299 nel Messinese, 165 nel Siracusano, 81 nel Trapanese, 131 nel Ragusano, 96 nel Nisseno e 2 in provincia di Enna.
