Allertati dai vicini di casa sul posto sono arrivati immediatamente i vigili del fuoco, che sono intervenuti con la gru. Fiamme che hanno naturalmente generato tanta preoccupazione tra i residenti, a partire da quelli immediatamente confinanti con l'appartamento interessato. Le operazioni di spegnimento sono state lunghe e complesse, e si sono concluse solamente all'alba. L'incendio sembra avere completamente distrutto mobili e suppellettili. L'origine delle fiamme è tuttora incerta. Pochi i dubbi che si sia trattato di un fatto assolutamente accidentale, probabilmente un corto circuito. Il fatto che in quel momento la casa fosse disabitata, oltre ad avere scongiurato e per fortuna danni alle persone, non ha comunque potuto generare nemmeno alcun allarme immediato né dunque il tentativo di fare qualcosa per limitare la vastità delle fiamme, con un intervento tempestivo. L'incendio ha preoccupato i residenti, alcuni dei quali hanno preferito uscire di casa in attesa che la situazione potesse tornare alla normalità.
