Un evento che ogni anno intende valorizzare uno dei settori trainanti dell'economia cittadina che posiziona la città di Sciacca come primo porto per pesce azzurro e gambero rosa – bianco. La manifestazione coincide con i festeggiamenti in onore di San Pietro, patrono dei pescatori. Anche per l'edizione 2019, gli organizzatori, in primo luogo il comitato dei festeggiamenti, le tre cooperative di pesca e il Comune di Sciacca, hanno messo su un programma che unisce tradizione, folclore, cultura, enogastronomia, musica e spettacolo. Ad aprire la Sagra del Mare 2019 sarà questa sera la Santa Messa alle ore 19 all'interno della Chiesa di San Pietro e, a seguire, sulla banchina San Paolo, l'apertura del Luna Park e della Cittadella del Gusto, una vera e propria area degustazione che dunque torna per la seconda volta ad arricchire il programma della manifestazione, dopo il successo dello scorso anno. Per ciò che concerne gli spettacoli, ad aprire le iniziative sul palco saranno stasera il trio comico de “I respinti” e il gruppo musicale saccense “Le mele marce”. Domani, invece, sarà l'antinna a mare, nel molo interno di levante del porto, ad aprire alle ore 17 la seconda giornata della Festa di San Pietro. L'antico gioco tipico delle città marinare vedrà anche quest'anno tanti pescatori sfidarsi in una prova di abilità ed equilibrio nel tentativo di acciuffare una bandierina posta all'estremità di una trave insaponata piazzata sopra lo specchio di mare. Antinna a mare che, nella giornata di sabato, sarà trasmessa in diretta sulla nostra emittente. La giornata clou dei festeggiamenti, sabato 29 giugno, festa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, con la processione della statua del Santo in mare a bordo di un peschereccio della flotta saccense. Al termine della serata, ci saranno i tradizionali giochi d'artificio.
